Over-All grade: 7C

  1. Play Script: 7C – Strong interpretation, demonstrating both clear understanding of original script and creative use of contemporary slang.
  2. Timeline: 6A – Excellent attention to detail, initiative and additional information.
  3. Presentation to class: 6A – Confident and well-prepared presentation demonstrating very strong fluency with subject material
  4. Essay:
    • Reading Grade: 7A – Very sophisticated appreciation of the lingustic, stylistic, generic and historical context of the play
    • Writing Grade: 6A – Well structured, with (rare) lapses in style and accuracy – you responded very well to the feedback, and your structure and style was improved significantly in your later drafts. Occasionally there was still too much of a ‘conversational’ tone to the essay, which is essentially a formal analysis as opposed to a discussion or review.

    WOW!!!! 7C! In year 7, it was very hard to even get a 5C, but I just went up 4 Sub-levels. Thank you so much for all the support you have been giving me. Secondly, for the task, do you need to answer the print journalism question, or define some points from the newspaper!?

      I’m most interested in you posing a question and finding the answer by referring to a primary source.

      I don’t think getting a 7C was easy in this case either – you just did some very good work!

    So this would be a good example: ‘Why don’t my mum buy a dishwasher’?. Secondly, when you used the hypen in the second sentence, can it be substituted for commas?

    The use of the ‘dash’ is a more modern punctuation usage. Some people don’t like it very much, as they think it is too informal. I use it sometimes to demonstrate that the clause after the hyphen leads on from the clause before it. You could use a full stop there if you wanted to.

    Good Afternoon sir. I’m halfway through writing up the Script for Tuesday. But because I’m trying not to be bias I can’t make up points for the two Yr 8 I’m interviewing, what should I do?

      Hi, Gabriel.
      I think in journalism you simply have to have faith that you will be able to find reasonable sources when you interview. It is fair for you to contact any year 8 students who you know and ask them what their position is on your topic. Once you have a person representing each side, you’re ready to go.

    Ok sir thanks for the advice. Also I only have Dion to play the Yr 8 student because Jose he is the cameraman and Samuel will not be in on Tuesday because he has a football match?
