Basketball is my sport
I love to run up and down the court
Dribbling and layups are not far away
While spin dunks and 3-pointers I dream to do on 2K
Dribble to the left, dribble to the right
While coach says basketball is just like a fight
Where on stupid mistake, one silly play can lose the game
While not turning up to training may lose you your fame
I love the pressure that basketball brings
Where seconds can decide if you get the NBA rings
Ankle breakers, posterizers and flashy passes look so cool
Forgetting the fundamentals make you look like a fool
Every kids dream is to be a franchise like MJ
But I will never forget the day
When I laid my eyes on Kevin Durant
When he shot over a player and made the player look like an ant
Well what I’m trying to say is basketball is more than a sport
It is a mentality, a mind set and a thought
You have to work hard and train yourself to learn the basics
While just being tall doesn’t mean you will make it!

Question: Does Animal Farm have an implied reader? Select at least three quotations from text to show.
I think that Animal Farm does have an implied reader and I think the implied reader was people living in the Russian Communism. I think George Orwell indirectly attacked the Russians through Animal Farm. George Orwell (author of Animal Farm) uses Mr Jones as a dictator and the animals as the people with no voice who want a classless society, so people can live equally. However in their multitudes, the animals overpower Mr Jones and create their own society.
Quote 1: “Misery and slavery: that is the plain truth.” This quote is from chapter one, where old Major, (the prize boar), is giving a speech on overthrowing and overpowering the humans. This is just like the Russian Communism, how people back then, were not enjoying life.
Quote 2: “Why, work night and day, body and soul, for the overthrow of the human race!” This is also from chapter one. You can see that old Major clearly wants to overthrow the humans from this quote. Another example we could use for an implied reader is the Uprising of slavery in America. The slaves hated the way they were treated and major figures like Harriet Tubman and others, helped get slavery abolished. Old Major is interpreted in animal Farm as a Harriet Tubman and Winston Churchill, a leader.
Quote 3: “All animals are equal.” This is also from Old Major’s speech. A classless society, a equal society.

Task: Turn a part of your novel or Animal Farm into a comic/script/poem.
This poem is from chapter 1 of Animal Farm, where old Major is giving a speech about rebelling against the humans.
Poem: Rebellion against Humans!
‘Fellow comrades we must come together
Unless you want the human race to rule forever
Is our purpose just to work and eat a small amount of food?
And yet that puts us in a bad mood’
‘Why should we let these pity beings use us as slaves
And they eat and eat for the rest of their days
When we become tired and old
They will either slaughter us or we will be sold’
‘We are, we are, we are the animals of Animal Farm
Let us rebel without alarm
We are, we are, we are the animals of Animal Farm
And we will rule the humans and the entire farm!’

From Chapter 8 to 9 the book’ The Chrysalids’ passed six whole years without explaining what happened in the six years. Now I, Gabriel, will inform you on all the exciting events. So lets begin, the love of David and Rosalind.
David and Rosalind
David and Rosalind have been good friends for many years because of the special link they share. David and Rosalind were both mutants. They can communicate telepathically. They are not the only ones, in fact there are many of them. However their love is very strange. They are family. David’s uncle Angus is Rosalind father. So their love is forbidden. Yet because they can secretly interact with each other, none of their family knows their passion for each other. David knew he cared a lot for Rosalind even before they knew they were in love. Now lets retell the moment when David and Rosalind looked at each other in a different way!
It was 2:00 PM after a church service recently finished. David and Rosalind were 13 years old at the time. Rosalind was holding her Bible when David accidentally crashed into Rosalind. They were dazed but they couldn’t their eyes of each other. They shared thoughts on how they never felt so happy and ran away to the local river. The two new lovers snuggled up and slept the night away.
6:00 AM the next day was when Rosalind and David woke up. Without hesitation they got up and ran back home. They blew kisses to each other as they sprinted back home. Both off them got confronted by their fathers asking them where they were the day before. They both replied, having an adventurous journey into the wonderful study of the Bible and decided to camp there to have a closer encounter with God. After their interrogation, the two went their rooms and thoroughly investigated every pros and cons to their relationship. There were not many pros to the relationship however because they were truly in love nothing could stop or block the feeling.
Now I have told you this romantic tale I hope you understand why Rosalind and David are in love.
The Untold story, has been TOLD!
